Each year, the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film in Rochester hosts its “Wish You Were Here” lecture series, a program that invites renowned photographers to discuss their documentary work. This year’s series features a Doug Menuez talking about his book Transcendent Spirit: The Orphans of Uganda. Menuez photographs take us into the lives of 20 Ugandan orphans of AIDS and war who support 700 orphans by touring the U.S. every two years as a dance troupe. These kids are the very essence of transcendence. Doug Menuez, 6 p.m., March 26, Dryden Theatre, Rochester, NY, http://www.eastmanhouse.org/.
