Nadav Kander’s “Monument, Utah USA” is among the photographs on offer in “America,” an auction cosponsored by IC Lab and one of its sister brands, Fast Ashley’s Studio. The auction features a carefully curated roster of artists who were invited to contribute one work that they felt embodied America. The list also includes Stockland Martel’s Doug Menuez and Vincent Laforet, as well as Andrew Eccles, Danny Clinch, and Melodie McDaniel. IC Lab made custom MasterPrints of each image, and there was a splashy party and exhibition held on April 16 to help generate buzz. Nearly a thousand people flocked to the former muscle-car garage that now serves as Fast Ashley’s headquarters to view the 51 photos. Proceeds from “America” will benefit Americans for the Arts, a national nonprofit dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts. Bidding is open through April 30 at http://www.igavel.com.
