New work: Michael Muller shoots poster for Joaquin Phoenix documentary

Remember Joaquin Phoenix’s breakdown a couple of years ago? The odd behavior, the abundant facial hair? Casey Affleck, Phoenix’s brother-in-law, followed the Academy Award–winning actor around with a movie camera during those rough times and turned the footage into a documentary. The film, titled I’m Still Here, is coming out next month, and Michael Muller shot a poster for it that perfectly captures its enigmatic star.

Meanwhile, as reported at New York magazine’s Vulture blog, Shepard Fairey has been busily deploying a street campaign in major cities such as New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Boston to promote the movie, and he’s using an image from Michael’s shoot…

Seen this poster quite a few times and never realized it was an example of one of my fave art, fashion photographer’s Michael Muller. Of course ISH is old news but finding out the poster was by one of favorite photographers is great news.
