Nadav Kander’s portrait of David Lynch appears on the cover of Stern Fotografie Portfolio No. 69.
.
We’re thrilled to announce that the new edition of Stern Fotografie is dedicated to the work of Nadav Kander—”a long-overdue tribute to one of the most varied photographers of his generation,” notes the publisher.
The 96-page book features selections from his vast range of photography—nudes, portraits, landscapes, his Yangtze project, and more.
“Kander’s concept seems to be not a search for objective truth but a striving for truthfulness,” says Stern art director Johannes Erler. “The reason could be that a photographer’s search for authenticity is always bound to end up in failure because the possibility of deception is imminent. Stage managing a shoot can be an effective way out of this difficulty. And that, in a way, has become Kander’s trademark.”
