Billabong teams up with Michael Muller for clothing collection featuring his shark photos. Plus: Watch a video of Michael swimming with great whites.

We’re thrilled to announce that Billabong has teamed up with Michael Muller for a clothing line inspired by Michael’s breathtaking photographs of sharks. The Billabong x White Mike collection features boardshorts, tanks, hats, and tees with names like Sweet Tooth and Sharkomatic and is available in stores or through billabong.com. A women’s line comprising bikinis, tanks, and sandals will be out this summer.

The Billabong x White Mike collection benefits EarthEcho International, a nonprofit organization whose mission is “to empower youth to take action that restores and protects our water planet.” EarthEcho was founded by Philippe and Alexandra Cousteau, grandchildren of the great explorer Jacques Cousteau.

Michael’s collaboration with Billabong is the latest in a long line of projects and recognition related to his shark photos. In October 2011, the Outsiders Gallery in London hosted “Opposing Instincts,” an exhibition featuring Michael’s shark photos with painted designs by artist Sage Vaughn. The Red Hot Chili Peppers used one of the Michael Muller/Sage Vaughn pieces for the cover of their album Monarchy of Roses. In December 2011, the Travel Channel premiered the series Shark Shoot: Fiji, which followed Michael and his crew on their dramatic underwater shoots. And in August 2012, the Discovery Channel used some of Michael’s shark photos for its “Shark Week” promo campaign and featured Michael in the broadcast special Shark Week’s 25 Best Bites.

Meanwhile, Michael’s underwater shark photography has been spotlighted in Outside, Feature Shoot, Red Bulletin, and Last Call With Carson Daly.

In the video below, presented by Billabong, you can accompany Michael on an underwater shark shoot in Guadalupe Island. He is joined by Philippe Cousteau, and the two use the opportunity to make the case for protecting sharks and saving the oceans. The piece ends with a simple question from Michael: “What are you doing to help our planet?”
