In celebration of the achievements of Michael Jordan, Walter Iooss and Jordan Brand have partnered on an outdoor exhibition showcasing 30 of Walter’s most iconic photographs of the NBA legend. The show, titled “Open Air,” opened May 29 and will be on view outside the Chicago Field Museum through Labor Day.

“This exhibition is meant to be a gift to the city of Chicago, just as Jordan was a gift to the city nearly 30 years ago,” Walter tells The Players’ Tribune, which has posted a selection of the “Open Air” photographs. “Michael was the perfect combination—the right person in the right place at the right time—to lift up the Bulls and the city. I guess I also was at the right place at the right time, because I was privileged to capture these images of him.”

The photos for the show were printed by Duggal. “‘Open Air’ is the kind of experience that gives you goosebumps,” they write at their blog. “The significance of these images, coupled with Jordan’s 13 seasons and six championships in Chicago, is history in its highest form. It is a public celebration in a city that bursts with energy and inspiration in summer.”
