Rebecca Hall—who delivered standout performances in films like Vicky Cristina Barcelona and The Town, yet remains just under the radar—is poised for stardom. In the ghost story The Awakening, she’s got her first leading role, and though the movie isn’t out till November 11, the press is already taking notice. This past Sunday, Telegraph Magazine did a cover story on the 29-year-old actress and commissioned Nadav Kander to make portraits of her to go with it. Here’s an excerpt from the piece, which was written by Naomi West:
‘I want to be really well respected and successful at what I do and utterly anonymous. Can anyone make that happen? Is that OK?’ Rebecca Hall is aware of the ridiculousness of what she is saying. Not least because as she says it she is sitting on the floor of the photographer Nadav Kander’s studio having just finished a cover shoot for this magazine.
