Michael Muller recently directed a broadcast commercial for Cirque du Soleil’s new Las Vegas spectacular, Zarkana. The show takes audiences on a journey through an abandoned theater where a fantastical circus populated with extraordinary characters comes back to life. He also shot the print campaign for the show, which gave him the chance to deliver a unified creative vision between print and film for the client.
“For decades as a photographer, I’ve worked alongside the best directors in the business, and now I’m channelng those experiences in filmmaking,” Michael explains. “By doing both the print and the film components of the campaign, I can apply a consistent aesthetic to the work. It’s exciting! Now I am directing behind BOTH cameras and finding innovative ways of merging print and TV together to help clients maximize their budget.”
