Stockland Martel is pleased to announce the addition of John Midgley to its roster. Midgley is a London-born fashion and celebrity photographer whose editorial and commercial clients over the years have included Men’s Vogue, GQ, Entertainment Weekly, Nike, Kenneth Cole, British Airways, and American Express. His work has been featured in a number of fashion annuals, such as Images de Modes, and last month, he was honored in the fashion and portrait categories at the AOP Awards in London. Ironically, it was also the AOP that gave Midgley his very first award while he was still a student at Bournemouth and Pool College of Art and Design; he won for an image taken from a series in Paris based on his memories of growing up there. Midgley now lives in Brooklyn with his three children and his wife, Eva, with whom he has collaborated on several award-winning short films. Recently, he devoted three months to completely reworking his portfolio, boosting its size to roughly 150 images. “I was used to having 60 images,” says Midgley, still sounding a little breathless from the effort. “It’s also a physical shock, as the damn thing weighs a ton!”
