Liz Von Hoene, who is as down-to-earth and charming as her fashion photos are flawless and stunning, gave a lecture this month at Portfolio Center in Atlanta, where she’s based. Afterward, a pair of students (Emily Dryden and Nathan Stoan) interviewed her about her work and what drives her. For example:
ED: After listening to you talk, it seems like you make decisions intuitively. Could you expand on that?
……..
LV: I am making decisions right now that are not based upon the economy. I have decided to hire a third employee. Is the economy going to support that? I do not care. I know it is going to help me grow and help my studio grow. So in the long run, it is about having faith in what you believe in as opposed to looking and analyzing. I think when you look and analyze too much, you get stuck. I believe there are a million reasons why you cannot go and do something and there are a million reasons why you can. I am always going to choose to do it.
