Sebastian Blanck is a founding member of the critically acclaimed art-noise outfit Black Dice, and Caroline Polachek is the silky-voiced singer and synth maven of the critically acclaimed electronic-pop band Chairlift. And here’s a portrait of them together, taken by Timothy for The Huffington Post:

The portrait appears in Timothy’s HuffPo column, posted yesterday, about Sebastian’s new album, Alibi Coast. Along with Caroline, the disc features appearances by Becky Stark, the sterling vocalist behind Lavender Diamond.
It also boasts cover art by Isca Greenfield-Sanders, Timothy’s daughter. Alibi Coast was inspired by the death of Sebastian’s brother and the birth of his son, the lowest of lows and highest of highs. Isca’s painting is of a skydiver billowing down into the unknown, suggesting at once an emotional freefall and an ineffable thrill. The feeling that you’re racing somewhere new, but you’re not quite sure where it is or what it’ll be like when you get there.
