The New York Times boasts an impressive archive of imagery, as you can imagine, and a wide selection of it is available at its online shop, The New York Times Store. Click on Photography, and you’ll find everything from NYC-specific shots to space & science photos, celebrity portraits, and vintage images of Chicago, the Great Wall of China, the Mexican border (in 1916), and other locales, as well as limited-edition photos by our own Walter Iooss.
Recently, the Times invited five top interior designers to dive into the archives and pick out 10 images that they think are especially habitat-friendly. Vincent Laforet, who was once a staff photographer at the Times (this was before he joined Stockland Martel), pops up more than once on the designers’ “50 Photographs”—more than any other photographer, in fact.
