Tobias Hutzler has produced a new series of photographs that are about energy, light, and space and that he shot, appropriately, out West in the desert. He was inspired to make these images—all of which he achieved in camera—by Picasso’s light drawings.
“Working with light in this way, photography becomes like a sketch, a kind of handwriting,” says Tobias. “In the desert, space feels endless, and it’s up to the artist to explore and interact with it.”
