Raising a toast to Roxanne Lowit and the Pierre Hotel

The Pierre Hotel has been a New York icon since it opened its doors on E. 61st St. in 1930, catering to “only those of refined tastes who can afford the best in the way of hotel luxury,” as a guidebook from that era noted. Decades later, the Pierre remains as vital as ever. Under the ownership of Taj Hotels, it has just undergone a massive $100 million renovation that makes its official debut today, and Agency Sacks has commissioned Roxanne Lowit to photograph a campaign (set for September) announcing the Pierre’s relaunch. Below are some highlights from a cocktail party we hosted last Thursday to celebrate Lowit and the Pierre—a pair of New York icons, if you will.
