Video: Vincent Laforet shoots Hudson honeys for New York mag

Theirs is a love story so incredible, even Strifetime—I mean, Lifetime—would find it implausible if it hadn’t actually happened. Last January, Ben Bostic and Laura Zych were passengers on US Airways flight 1549, which was forced to land on the Hudson River after colliding with a flock of geese. They were strangers at the time, but now Ben and Laura are a couple. In its annual “Reasons to Love New York” issue, New York magazine tells the story of how they came together, and Vincent Laforet shot both stills and video for the story on location.

At his blog, Vincent has posted his an alternate video of the shoot made by Robert Caplin and edited by Laia Prats. “I’ve got to admit that I fell to the ground laughing when I heard their choice of music,” Vincent writes. “That combined with some great onboard audio reminded me so much of the epic helicopter scene from Apocalypse Now.”
