At the party last month to celebrate the debut of Stockland Martel’s new photo annual, SMart Book 2010, I interviewed Maureen Martel about the design of the book and why the agency continues to produce a printed photo annual in the digital age. Here’s what she had to say:

    Thank you Ms. Kidder for showing us the reality of how hard this business is. Obviously you chose video for a reason – you wanted to convey an image of your speaker and not only the content of the text which could have been presented in interview format. This woman works hard (i.e., bra straps hanging out despite the pearls and elegant black cocktail dress).
