As has been reported in Women’s Wear Daily, New York magazine, and elsewhere, Miuccia Prada made her Metropolitan Opera debut last month, designing the costumes for Verdi’s opera Attila. Last Monday, Miuccia invited a small group of friends to attend the production, directed by Riccardo Muti and featuring set design by famed Swiss architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron. And Style.com asked Roxanne Lowit to document the scene backstage.
Roxanne’s photos illustrate a special online presentation in which artist and Prada collaborator Francesco Vezzoli has rerecorded interviews with the stars and creators of the show in his own voice. It’s a performance about a specific performance and about the concept of performance. Love it.
