Jim, who has produced award-winning images for the critically acclaimed Showtime series Dexter, recently shot an ad for the cable network’s United States of Tara series, which is now in its second season (the premiere was this past Monday).
“Toni Collette was great,” recalls Jim of the series’ Emmy-winning star, who portrays a woman with multiple personalities (all of them rather colorful). “It’s amazing to think of the amount of time she puts into United States of Tara—she plays so many characters. It was interesting to watch her ‘become’ each one.”
The shoot was in Los Angeles, and Jim is based in Athens, Georgia. But rather than hop on a plane to the West Coast, he climbed on his bike—a BMW motorcycle—and hit the road. “Six days of silence,” he says, “then ‘Shoot.’”
