Timothy Greenfield-Sanders on “Dancing Across Borders” star’s dramatic story

Timothy’s latest column for The Huffington Post is on the new documentary Dancing Across Borders, which tells the story of Cambodian dancer Sokvannaara Sar’s progress as he leaves his dance troupe in Angkor Wat to try his luck in New York City.

The documentary marks the debut of director Anne Bass—a former contributing editor at Vogue and House and Garden—who spotted Sokvannaara in Angkor Wat a decade ago and facilitated his move to New York, as well as an audition for the School of American Ballet.
