The benefit auction inspired by the new book Children of Africa: South African Edition was last month, and it drew a big crowd despite the sweltering temperatures and the surfeit of photo-related events (such as Le Book Connections) in New York that day.
The book, which is raising money for children with HIV/AIDS in South Africa, was a heartfelt, time-consuming effort for Luca Zordan, whose portraits are featured in Children of Africa, and for his collaborator, stylist Alethea Gold.
