Luca Zordan working on his book “Children of Israel.”
.
Luca Zordan is on a mission to photograph the children of the world, a personal endeavor that has already yielded three books: &Sons: Children Around the World, a collaboration with fashion brand Replay; Children of China; and Children of Africa: South Africa Edition. (He has also photographed kids in Cuba.) This month, he and Alethea Gold—who worked with him on Children of China and Children of Africa—embarked on his latest book project: Children of Israel. All of the profits will benefit charity.
Here’s a dispatch from Luca, who is in Israel as of this writing.

A few small correction: The picture at the top of the page (with the photographer filming the children having a picnic) was photographed in Ein Bustan, as was the picture of the two girls hugging. Ein Bustan is nowhere near Afula. It is situated in the small Bedouin village of Hilf,in the lower Galilee (not far from the Jezreel valley) and is attended by both Jewish and Muslim children from the surrounding area. We are by no means the first Arab jewish kindergarten in Israel however we are the first Arab Jewish Waldorf kindergarten, possibly in the world. PLease see more at: http://www.ein-bustan.org
Dear Rachel,
Thank you so much for your note. I have corrected the text.
Best wishes,
Kristina
