London calling: A still from Lauren Greenfield's "The Queen of Versailles," which will make its U.K. debut next month at Sundance London 2012.
.
Next month, Robert Redford will be expanding his Sundance Film Festival beyond its Park City headquarters to London, where the inaugural Sundance London 2012 will take place from April 26 to 29. Only 14 films have been selected for the four-day event, and The Queen of Versailles—which earned Lauren Greenfield the U.S. Directing Award for Documentary when it premiered at Sundance in January—is one of them. Congratulations, Lauren!
Also making their U.K. premieres will be the much-buzzed-about romantic comedy 2 Days in New York, written and directed by Julie Delpy and costarring Chris Rock; Chasing Ice, a doc in which filmmaker Jeff Orlowski follows National Geographic photographer James Balog‘s journeys to complete the Extreme Ice Survey; and LUV, a drama about an ex-con who becomes a role model for a young boy, starring Common.
In addition to the screenings, Sundance London 2012 will feature musical performances by Placebo and by Tricky, who will perform his influential 1995 album, Maxinquaye, with Martina Topley-Bird. More details on the fest here.
