The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art here in New York has mounted an exhibition inspired by a pair of fashion legends, Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli, and dreamed up in part by movie director Baz Luhrmann, who served as creative consultant. The show, “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations,” which opens May 10, has in turn inspired a fashion feature in the latest issue of Gotham magazine. Photographer John Midgley channeled Ms. Schiaparelli for Laurie Brookins‘ story, which you can read online here.
