PDN explores how Nigel Cox does “still life photography on a grand scale”

For its August issue, PDN interviewed Nigel Cox about a recent shoot he did for Dwell magazine. The assignment, PDN notes, was to show upholstery fabrics draped over things, but Nigel suggested covering variously shaped objects and arranging them to look like they were suspended in midair. “I always pictured them as floating,” he tells PDN.

Nigel’s approach was more interesting but also more challenging. Read how he got the shots, and see his sketches and some on-set photos, in “How I Got That Shot: Still Life Photography on a Grand Scale.”

Really interesting work – looks light paintings. Such art in ordinary things. Thanks for bringing this up.
