Last month, Kwaku Alston traveled to Ethiopia to document a TOMS Shoes shoe drop and the debilitating foot disease Podoconiosis. As Kwaku notes at his blog, “Podo is 100% preventable with shoes!” But many people there can’t afford shoes, and so…efforts like those of TOMS are vital.
Kwaku came back with some really beautiful photographs. Let’s take a minute to appreciate them and the immeasurable value of simply recognizing—really seeing and making an effort to understand and empathize with—other people.
