Feel like inspiring someone?

The Art of Elysium, which engages critically ill kids in the arts as a form not just of therapy but as a way to enrich their lives and inspire their imaginations, needs your help.

The L.A.-based nonprofit organization—whose many celebrity supporters include Ben Affleck, Nicolas Cage, Melissa Etheridge, and James Franco—is trying to raise enough money to purchase 3,000 art kits for hospitalized children participating in the Art of Elysium’s hospital-based workshops. Each kit costs just $25, and the goal is to raise the funds needed in the next two weeks.

Incidentally, the Art of Elysium is always on the look-out for actors, artists, musicians and others in the arts to volunteer their time. If you’re a photographer and would like to volunteer, you might want to check out Kids Clicking Kids, which was cofounded by our own Michael Muller. A number of Stockland Martel photographers are on KCK’s artist board, in fact: Matthias Clamer, Nino Munoz, Kwaku Alston, Lauren Greenfield, and Vincent Laforet.

Last year, I interviewed Michael about KCK. He said the project made him “thankful to be alive.” You can read that post right here.
