The Tribeca Film Festival kicks off tomorrow and will feature screenings of Beauty CULTure, a 30-minute film by award-winning director Lauren Greenfield. The synopsis: “Beauty CULTure investigates our obsession with beauty and the influence of photographic representations on female body image. Film subjects hail from diverse points on the beauty landscape. Fashion photographers, child pageant stars, bodybuilders, teenagers, and intellectuals engage in a provocative dialogue that addresses the persistent ‘beauty contest of daily life.”

Beauty CULTure derived from a commission by the Annenberg Space for Photography, which asked Lauren to create a short film to accompany its exhibition of the same name. The first Tribeca Film Festival screening is at 10 PM tomorrow at AMC Loews Village. For more showtimes and ticket info, go here.
