Don’t forget to tune in to “The Out List” tomorrow night on HBO
From the start of his career, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders has displayed a sixth sense for capturing the cultural zeitgeist. As Out magazine points out in a terrific new profile of him, Timothy homed in on New York during the Factory years, Los Angeles studio heads as Hollywood’s golden age was winding down, and New York artists at a pivotal moment in the art world.
In recent years, Timothy has explored race and enthnicity in his award-winning portrait and documentary series The Black List and The Latino List and examined commonly held perceptions of beauty and aging in About Face: Supermodels Then and Now.
And now, he’s done it again: The Out List, Timothy’s latest portrait and documentary project, looks at the experiences of the LGBT community through the voices of some of its most prominent members. The movie premieres tomorrow night at 9:30 on HBO, hot on the heels of today’s landmark Supreme Court rulings that bring gays a giant leap closer to equal rights.
We’re proud to present a selection of Timothy’s “Out List” portraits, along with the movie’s official trailer…
