Nadav Kander directs two unforgettable PSAs on growing older for British charity Age U.K.
Nadav Kander‘s latest directing project is a pair of PSAs for Age U.K., the United Kingdom’s largest charity dedicated to inspiring and helping people to make the most of later life. It’s a subject many people would rather not think about, but here it’s treated with grace and a refreshingly light touch.
Titled “Time Flies,” the spots center on a poem by Roger McGough and show a progression of ages, starting with a baby and ending with a bright-eyed elderly woman. One of the commercials, which clocks in at a minute, features a voiceover by actor Christopher Lee, while a 39-second cut is voiced by actor Jonathan Pryce.
“Time Flies” has earned quite a bit of good press so far: Fast Company‘s Co. Create blog featured the spots, and “Time Flies” was an Adweek Ad of the Day and a Creativity magazine Editor’s Pick. Shots magazine published a feature on the collaboration between Nadav and creative director Sam Walker of Karmarama, the agency that created the PSAs. And the April issue of Creative Review, which called the pieces “thought-provoking and elegant,” includes an interview with Nadav about the project.
