Video: Watch Jeff Lipsky’s Iris Nights lecture at the Annenberg Space for Photography

At the beginning of June, Jeff Lipsky shared the stories behind some of his favorite portraits in an Iris Nights lecture at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles.

The lecture was titled “Nashville Stories,” but in addition to his many photos of country-music stars like Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban, Jeff spoke about photographing celebrities such as Kerry Washington, Jon Hamm, and Zac Efron.

Jeff is as relaxed and engaging on stage as he is on set, and his stories offer an entertaining glimpse into the life of a celebrity photographer. Like when actor Aaron Eckhart came down from his hotel room to meet Jeff for a shoot,with a wardrobe consisting of jeans and a T-shirt he had balled up in his hand. Or when Jeff was shooting Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw and had to figure out to show their faces without asking them to take off their big cowboy hats, which they wore pulled down snugly right above their eyes.
