A look inside the exhibition “Nadav Kander: Selected Portraits, 1999–2011″

We’re proud to note that Nadav Kander has been nominated for a London Photography Award. “The awards recognise artists at the forefront of their art,” according to an official statement. “Nominations are based on highly rated reviews of shows and publications that have taken place in each of the 10 award categories.” The winners will be announced at the London Awards for Art and Performance 2011 Presentation Ceremony on July 28, during the London Festival Fringe.

Meanwhile, the Lowry Museum in Manchester, England, which houses the L.S. Lowry Collection, has done a stunning job of installing Nadav’s work for the exhibition “Nadav Kander: Selected Portraits, 1999–2011,” giving the photos lots of space to breathe, and viewers plenty of room to regard these compelling visages. The show, which opened in April, is on view through September 4. Here’s a look, courtesy of Nadav’s studio, who sent over these installation shots taken by photographer Ben Blackall.
