It started as a personal project. Uwe Duettmann envisioned shooting a fashion story with the enigmatic appeal of David Lynch‘s cultishly adored film Mulholland Drive. His plan was to fly in from his native Germany to shoot on location in Los Angeles, collaborating with stylist Christiane Graf, hair and makeup artist Agnesha Kollien, 1st assistant Benni Bock, and Eric Locke of lockemotion. And then Gala, one of Germany’s bestselling weekly magazines, got wind of the project and offered to buy it. And here’s how it turned out…
