Martin Sigal.
Martin Sigal has been perhaps the most in-demand photographer in South America for years, a stature he has achieved the honest way: through talent and a refreshingly down-to-earth personality. He’s a nice guy who also produces distinctive advertising photography, and not just in South America. Martin’s reputation worldwide continues to grow, as born out by the numerous prestigious accolades he has earned—at Cannes, the Clios, D&AD, FIAP, Circulo de Creativos, and more. If you follow Communication Arts‘ Photography Annuals, you’ve seen his work there, as well as in the “200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide” issue of Luerzer’s Archive (Martin was featured in 2004, 2006, and 2008).
“I am grateful to photography because it was allowed me to explore a world that blends fiction and reality, and portraying that duality provides a constant and fascinating challenge,” says Sigal, who lives in Buenos Aires with his wife and two children.
Martin approaches each picture with an open disposition, while his work reflects his life story: a dedication to artistry with a global outlook. He balances a refined accuracy with a human touch, always bringing a fresh approach to projects and avoiding the predictable. Or, to quote an admiring blogger who dedicated a post to his images after seeing his work at LeBook Connections in 2009, “His colors are raw, the lighting is perfect, the energy fantastic and [the] composition brilliant.” We couldn’t agree more.
