On Monday in Hong Kong, Sotheby’s will be offering a rare 118.28-carat white diamond, “the greatest white diamond ever to appear at auction.” Nigel Cox was commissioned to photograph the stunning gem here in New York, before it made its way overseas for the “Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite” auction.
“I photographed the diamond overnight at Sotheby’s, with about eight security guards watching over it,” says Nigel. “It was so sparkling that it practically lit itself.”
