Tonight: free screening of The Black List
……….
In conjunction with an exhibition of photographs from The Black List: Vol. 2, the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford, Connecticut, is screening the HBO documentary tonight. After the movie, there will be a discussion with Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, who collaborated on the project with film critic Elvis Mitchell. Admission is free.
The Black List reveals the diverse experiences of being black in America through a series of intimate interviews and portrait sessions. The film features personal accounts and interviews with leading African American figures such as activist and artist Majora Carter, actor Laurence Fishburne, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, author Toni Morrison, and musician/producer P. Diddy.
The screening and exhibition are being presented jointly by the Amistad Center for Art & Culture and the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. The Black List exhibition will be on view through August 23. For details: http://www.wadsworthatheneum.org/index.php
