Timothy is the cover story for the new issue of Professional Photographer magazine. The feature, written by Lorna Gentry and titled “Moving Portraits: Timothy Greenfield-Sanders continues to forge ahead,” not only spans his career, influences, and recent projects but also includes a sidebar on his cameras, lighting, computers and software, scanners, and output. The story is comprehensive, to say the least.
I won’t spoil Lorna’s hard work by revealing it all here, but I did pull some of Timothy’s quotes from her story to entice you to download the PDF of the article (Professional Photographer Mag).

“I never felt I could do lots of different types of photography. I was interested in people. It was natural for me to become a portrait photographer because it’s a good way to meet people.”

“You can’t do with digital what I do with an 8×10, but I don’t think it will be long until you will be able to shoot a digital file as large with as high quality.” Then he adds, “My look is not about the technology. It’s about my relationship to the person and the simplicity of my lighting.”
