L.A., here we come!
…
What do you mean we have to pay extra for seatbelts?
A bunch of us—Maureen, photo agents Dana Eudy and Emily Leonardo, and I—are headed to Los Angeles today. On Friday, the exhibition “Sport: Iooss and Leifer” opens at the Annenberg Space for Photography, and we’re all looking forward to attending the big reception and honoring Walter. Bill flew out a few days early, and he’s planned a group dinner in Venice Beach. Our L.A.-based talent will be there (Lauren Greenfield, Kwaku Alston, Jeff Lipsky, Michael Muller, Vincent Laforet, and Matthew Rolston), and one of our New York photographers (Doug Menuez) are planning to come out for the occasion, as well.
The blog Pix Feed LA, which covers the LA photo scene, noted that Walter’s giving a presentation on Saturday night. I’m not sure if tickets are still available for “An Evening With Walter Iooss,” but as PFLA notes, you might get lucky on standby. Their post, by the way, also includes a link to Walter’s 1999 appearance on Charlie Rose. Worth a look.
