Boardwalk Empire star Gretchen Mol graces the cover of the May issue of Town & Country, in a feature story written by Meredith Blake and photographed by Art Streiber. The photos embody classic Hollywood glamor—from the locations to the styling and wardrobe—but possess a kind of naturalness that I think of as uniquely contemporary.
Here’s Art on the shoot:
“Working with Gretchen Mol at the Lautner Hotel in Desert Hot Springs, and alongside Town & Country Creative Director Ed Leida, was a breeze.
Gretchen brought a presence that only a seasoned actress can bring to still photographs, the light and lines of the Lautner provided a multitude of architectural options, and Ed’s vision and creative impulses pushed me to explore compositions that I wouldn’t have found without his suggestion.
Sophie Pera did an incredible job with the wardrobe styling, beautifully pairing each environment with exactly the right outfit.
This is one of those shoots at which each of the creative professionals involved contributed to his or her fullest capacity…and the results are stunning.”
