Art Streiber on photographing Robin Williams in 2008 for Rolling Stone

Time magazine’s Lightbox blog is paying tribute to Robin Williams, who died on Monday, with a gallery of memorable portraits of the actor and comedian. Art Streiber is among the photographers who contributed to the post.

“I remember being on that shoot and wanting to sort of go loose with it, so we were backstage in this very barren green room, telling each other jokes,” Art tells Lightbox of his 2008 portrait of Williams for Rolling Stone. “And this probably sounds extremely self-serving, but I told him a joke and he bent over laughing. That was the photo.”
