Lauren Greenfield nominated for a Directors Guild of America award for her brilliant #LikeAGirl commercial for Always

Ad Age has announced that the Directors Guild of America has nominated Lauren Greenfield for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials for “#LikeAGirl,” the much-buzzed-about spot she directed for Procter & Gamble‘s Always brand via Leo Burnett.

“#LikeAGirl,” which has racked up more than 56 million views on YouTube in the U.S. alone, also earned the top spot on Creativity‘s “Best of 2014” list for TV/film. “Leo Burnett and Always got everyone thinking and talking about the stereotypes our culture imposes on girls and young women in this moving film,” the editors wrote.
