Behind the scenes of Art Streiber’s WWD cover shoot with Oscar winner Brie Larson

“Sometimes, daylight is all you need,” says Art Streiber, who photographed Brie Larson for the cover of WWD a few weeks ago. “It couldn’t have been more low-key: daylight, the hotel robe that was hanging in the closet, and an incredibly lovely, beautiful, and generous subject,” he says of the Room star, who won the Best Actress award last night at the Oscars.

Below, several of the portraits that appeared in WWD, plus a couple of behind-the-scenes photos of the shoot, for which the Beverly Hilton provided the elegant setting.

Best actress nominee Brie Larson savors her moment in the sun while sharing her “trippy” journey from indie ingénue to major actress. She may be juggling designer gowns, but says, “My whole world doesn’t need to change just yet.”
