“These three have great chemistry,” say Brinson+Banks of photographing Bryan Cranston, James Franco, and Keegan-Michael Key, stars of the movie Why Him?, for The New York Times. “And when I say chemistry, I mean they laugh a lot together, and that made our shoot more fun. We always try to keep it light, but they were so playful and comfortable around each other that they didn’t mind our close, somewhat silly, poses at all.
“Bryan Cranston yanked our chains a little by walking up and shaking Kendrick’s hand and saying, ‘David’ and walking up and shaking David’s hand and saying, ‘Kendrick,’ at the start and end of the shoot, and we rather appreciated that wink.”
This is the second time Brinson+Banks have photographed Key, the first being a New York Times shoot in which he and his comedy partner Jordan Peele posed in front of a giant backdrop made by Happenings Co. See it here.
