R/GA honored for its digital campaign, featuring VR by Jim Fiscus, for Samsung’s Rihanna/ANTIdiaRy collaboration
R/GA won a Graphite Pencil in the Branding/Digital Brand Expression category at this year’s D&AD Awards for its campaign promoting Rihanna’s album ANTIdiaRy. The campaign centered on an app comprising eight 360-degree environments, or rooms, that viewers could explore by moving their phone around. Jim Fiscus shot VR, stop-motion photography, stills, closeups, and backplates for the project. “I shot them all under the same lighting, all in the same shoot,” he explains. “As a result, the client had assets that they could use in any number of ways, including the mobile app.”

Jim also shot portraits of some of the characters populating the rooms, such as this tattooed maid.
