Kendrick Brinson selected as a mentor for the 2017 Women Photograph Mentorship Program

We’re proud to announce that Kendrick Brinson of Brinson+Banks was chosen to be a mentor in the 2017 Women Photograph Mentorship Program. The program “will pair 22 industry leaders (11 photographers and 11 photo editors) with 22 early-career photojournalists over the course of a year,” according to the organization’s website. “Mentors include editors from National Geographic, NPR, The New York Times, and The Guardian, and photographers who are the recipients of the Pulitzer Prize, Guggenheim Fellowships, and World Press Photo awards.”

The program is aimed at “female, female-identifying, and nonbinary photographers with less than five years of professional work experience who might be interested in long-term support.” Applications are now closed, but you can learn more about the program and Women Photograph here.

The Night Owls I | I worked on a commissioned photo essay on Los Angeles women at night for the inaugural issue of Europe's "Spaces In-Between" (a collab art lifestyle mag between size? Magazine and Huck). One of the nights I did less wandering and a group of 3 best friends let me tag along as they drank wine and got dressed to go out and then headed to two Hollywood bars–it was so lovely to witness their playfulness and bonds, but also to peer into sides of LA I don't experience.
