From the official press release:

The 3rd Annual AWOW Montauk Surf Therapy Event will celebrate and honor courageous kids, adults, and their families. Two beautiful days at the beach with no labels; everyone is an athlete. “The East End warmly welcomed A Walk On Water three years ago, and it’s our privilege and honor to be returning to this wonderful community annually to share the magic that is surf therapy,” says Steven Lippman, President, A Walk on Water. “The positive effects of an AWOW surf therapy day are beautiful to witness. Everyone at the beach gets to be part of it, cheering on these incredible kids and adults, making the day special for the families.”

Athletes will feel the thrill and confidence that only “a walk on water” can provide, and families will be fully supported and cared for as they share a much-deserved day of fun, relaxation and respite. “A Walk On Water has been such a wonderful addition to the community on the East End. I’ve seen the positive effects of the program firsthand as both a volunteer and as the parent of an athlete,” says Walt Lindveld, Head of AWOW’s East Coast Chapter. “We look forward to welcoming our
West Coast AWOW brothers and sisters back to Montauk, and continuing to grow the program on the East Coast in the coming year so we can serve more deserving families.”

Refreshments from the Montauk Juice Company and lunch courtesy of Ditch Witch food truck will be provided. Families interested in participating in the event are asked to preregister by September 4 by clicking here.

AWOW exists largely because of amazing volunteers who return year after year as they find the entire event and experience priceless! To volunteer at this year’s event, please sign up here.
