Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and Elvis Mitchell to be honored at the Gold Rush Awards

Black List collaborators Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and Elvis Mitchell will be honored at the second-annual Gold Rush Awards, scheduled for March 18 at the Red Bull Space in New York City and hosted by MTV vet Sway Calloway. The awards, which recognize “outstanding individuals in the arts for establishing groundbreaking projects,” will also honor photographer Jamel Shabazz and gallerist Collette Blanchard.

The Gold Rush Awards were established by the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, an organization founded in 1995 by the Simmons brothers—Russell, Danny, and Joseph (a.k.a. Rev. Run). Its stated mission is to provide “disadvantaged urban youth with significant arts exposure, access and education as well as providing exhibition opportunities to early and mid-career artists and artists of color.” Giant magazine did a feature on Rush last year. Congratulations to all the Gold Rush Awards honorees!
