For the new issue of Ramp magazine, Jan Steinhilber photographed a 10-page story on Axel Budde, who is revered for his custom-made Moto Guzzi motorcycles.
“Axel is used to cameras—he formerly worked as a rig operator on car shoots,” Jan explains. “But last year, he turned his hobby into a profession with his own custom motorcycle shop, Kaffeemaschine. Axel builds the most beautiful Moto Guzzi cafe racers you can imagine. And as you can see, he also knows how to ride them.
“When Ramp magazine asked me to shoot him and his personal bike for their latest issue,” Jan continues, “I was more than happy to say yes. Many thanks to the great people at Rialto Cinema in Hamburg Wilhelmsburg for letting us work in front of their place. And don’t forget to check out the bikes at kaffee-maschine.net.”
