Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.  Genius and geniuser.

This shoot for Entertainment Weekly was my second opportunity to work with these guys, and I cannot emphasize enough how smart they are and how in control of their comedy they are, both conceptually and physically.

We executed 10 different concepts with Key & Peele, and they were absolutely on board from start to finish, never looking at their watches, never second guessing the ideas, but instead, improving on them and working them to their funniest.

The concepts for the shoot that came from Michele Romero at Entertainment Weekly genius.  Michele really did her homework and knew that Keegan and Jordan were up to the task of executing sophisticated and elegant ideas, most of which weren’t published in the magazine.

An equal of amount of kudos must go out to my postproduction supervisor/retoucher, Angie Hayes, who brilliantly added a mini-Chaplin, Xerxes jewelry, and a blowhole to Mr. Key, and gave Mr. Peele a black eye, a monocle, and a halo—and made it look easy.

The success of this shoot is absolutely the result of very seasoned, intelligent, and talented professionals all rising to the occasion, and for that I am very grateful.” —Art Streiber
