This year’s jury features…

Jacqueline Bates, photography director at California Sunday Magazine. She was previously senior photo editor of W and worked in the photo departments of Elle, Interview, and Wired. Bates holds an MFA in photography from the School of Visual Arts, and her work has been exhibited internationally.

Clinton Cargill, director of photography at Bloomberg Businessweek. He was most recently a photo editor at The New York Times Magazine, a role he held since 2006. He had been with the Times since 2004.

Marvin Orellana, photo editor at New York. He previously worked in the photo departments of The New York Times Magazine, Marie Claire, and More. Orellana holds a BFA in photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Jennifer Pastore, photography director of WSJ. She was previously the contributing photography director of Harper’s Bazaar, the photography director of Teen Vogue, and the associate photography editor of T. Pastore teaches in the BFA photography program at the School of Visual Arts and holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Florida.

Amy Pereira, director of photography at MSNBC.com. She is an award-winning photo editor focusing on photojournalism, reportage, social documentary, and long-form visual storytelling.
