The Internet may have democratized the music industry, making it easy for bands to distribute their songs without a record label, but it also made the competition that much more intense. Music lovers have so many options, it’s hard for a band to stand out.
So it’s extra gratifying when a major media outlet takes notice of an indie act, which is exactly what happened with And the Kids. The Wall Street Journal recently named the Northampton, Massachusetts–based trio one of “8 Music Acts to Watch” in 2015, predicting that they are “poised to break out this year.” If you’re in New York, you can decide for yourself: And the Kids are playing tonight at 9 at the Rockwood Music Hall in Manhattan. Details here.
Photo duo Guzman shot the publicity images for the band, whose debut full-length album, Turn to Each Other, just came out. Below, some of their favorite images from the shoot.
